PITTSBURGH (July 11, 2016) – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an office of the Department of Defense, honored Chris Hale, Chairman and Co-Founder of Victory Media, with the ESGR Seven Seals Award during a ceremony at Victory Media’s headquarters on July 6, 2016. The award is in recognition of Mr. Hale’s tireless efforts to provide service members and their families with information about their best post-military education and career opportunities through Victory Media’s publications, digital tools and rigorous adjudication of its Military Friendly® ratings.
According to Tom Bullock, ESGR Chief of Engagement, “The ESGR Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of ESGR Senior Leadership.”
The Seven Seals Award is in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission, to include the efforts of the more than 4,700 volunteers who carry out ESGR’s mission across the Nation on a daily basis.
“Our Military Friendly® ratings program has supported the good work of Tom Bullock, ESGR and the DOD for many years,” said Chris Hale, chairman and co-founder of Victory Media. “Military Friendly® is a highly influential advocacy change agent. When we include things in its criteria, or modify weightings, change happens. We have included Guard and Reserve policies since 2003 and have specifically included the ESGR Statement of Support for a number of years, with 71% of last year’s Military Friendly® Employers survey respondents indicating their support of it. We’re happy to work hand-in-hand with ESGR to grow this number on behalf of the military community we both serve every day. I am deeply honored to receive the Seven Seals Award in recognition of our efforts.”
For more than a decade, Victory Media’s Military Friendly® ratings programs, including the Military Friendly® Employers program, have evolved with the needs of the military community and in response to the growing number of companies interested in hiring and retaining military talent. This year’s ratings consider three sources of data in scoring employers: publicly available company data, personal opinion data from military employees, and proprietary survey data. Victory Media will also include new Military Friendly® Employers Awards showcasing the most powerful and effective programs by industry that support military employees.
