PITTSBURGH, February 12, 2018. Victory Media announced today that it has promoted Mike Stevens to chief executive officer. Stevens joined the company as its chief operating officer in October 2016 after retiring as the 13th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) with nearly 34 years of service.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity that this promotion affords. We have made remarkable advancement in the past year in the efficacy of our core digital products, “said Stevens. “I am blessed to be charged with scaling these exciting new products that will enable our proud company to take another step in improving the lives of veterans and those who provide them with civilian opportunities.”
Stevens’ promotion is part of a restructuring that increases focus for the innovative veteran-owned business which has produced the likes of G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse of the Year, Vetrepreneur, Buy Veteran, Military Friendly and STEM Jobs. Victory Media will continue to own and operate G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse and Military Friendly.
“Upon hiring Mike Stevens in 2016, I knew his experience leading 400,000 sailors in the Navy provided him the skills to scale Victory’s operations,” said Chris Hale, CEO of parent Neptune Companies. “In his nearly a year and a half on board, Mike has mastered the finer points of our business, gained the trust of our customers and employees and most importantly has kept focus on the veterans we serve. His talents will serve Victory Media well in this exciting next chapter.”
With the restructuring, Victory President Rich McCormack takes on a new role as CEO of Neptune’s other subsidiary where he fill focus on accelerating the development of new technologies and less developed brands. In addition to Neptune CEO, Hale remains Victory Chairman.
