PITTSBURGH (January 12, 2017)—Victory Media, the ratings organization and publisher of Military Friendly® Employers and Military Friendly® Schools ratings, announced today its 2017 Military Spouse Friendly Employers® at http://militaryfriendly.com/2017-military-spouse-friendly-employers-list. The annual list recognizes those companies that hire spouses of active duty service members and promote workforce development policies and programs that acknowledge and support the unique challenges of military life.
The 2017 list features 121 employers across four revenue categories, demonstrating the growing success among all types of organizations and across industries for tapping into this talented group of men and women. Category winners are:
- Over $1Billion Annual Revenue – Comcast NBCUniversal
- $500MM – $1Billion Annual Revenue – Sundt Construction
- Less than $500MM – R. Riveter
- Nonprofit / Government – Kaiser Permanente
“Military spouses are expert problem-solvers. The new, annual Military Friendly® Companies survey includes a section rating employers that offer hiring, onboarding, retention and mentoring programs that are better for veterans and service members transitioning out of the military. Another section of the Military Friendly® Companies survey considers recruiting and retention practices and policies specifically for military spouses, addressing some of the biggest concerns of military families:
- Which companies provide time off for spouses when their service member is deployed?
- Which companies offer flexibility for spouses who are managing the nuances of military life?
- Which companies work to keep spouses employed when they inevitably have to relocate?
